Time Statements
Time statements found in the Word of God show the truth of Full Preterism. These include such phrases or key words as:these things will happen in this generation, are soon to take place, shortly, and the time is near. For i.e. Revelation itself starts off the book by saying.
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
Revelation 1:1 (KJV)
These time statements show that most of what was prophesied was to take place shortly not a long time like thousands of years, in fact many places Christ specifically says His second return would be in the disciples generation or life time.
Audience Relevance
Audience relevance is who is being spoken to or who were the words written for. Keep in mind much of the Bible was spoken to certain individuals for certain groups, while the application certainly can be used for us it doesn't mean that all things were meant for us. For example when God spoke to Moses to write the Ten Commandments it doesn't mean that we are to go out and write our own Ten Commandments on Tablets, or that we now are going to be freed from the Egyptian slavery. The words were spoken and written for the Israelites then. Just as Revelation was written to the Seven Churches during the disciples life time because Christ was returning a second time soon with judgement, on those who crucified Him and who were leading the church astray from the New Covenant.
Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
Revelation 1:11 (KJV)
Resurrection
While many point the finger at Full Preterism for saying the resurrection is past; by trying to ridicule us using this verse: 2 Timothy 2:17-18 (KJV) And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
Reality says they are ridiculing Christ, because Christ said that the resurrection would take place in His generation or the disciples generation, life time, not ours.
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
Matthew 12:41-42 (KJV)
Conclusion
In conclusion Full Preterism is the only consistent belief that takes most of the word at face value and doesn't have to twist the Word to make it match. It just plainly matches as God said it would happen, within the time and who He said it would happen to and for. Now salvation is for all from that time (67-73AD) moving forward.
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Revelation 14:13 (KJV)
