Spirit Lead - Breath of Life

Spirit Lead

1 John 4:8 teaches us that God is love, and 1 John 4:19 reminds us that we love because He first loved us. We are naturally sinners—people who rebel against God by nature—yet this did not prevent God from reaching out to us first.

Romans 5:8 declares that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Because Christ died for our sins, we may have eternal life with our Creator, as promised in John 3:16.

Once we believe that God sent His Son to die for us, we begin to learn how to love God and love our neighbor by keeping His commandments. This is the law of Christ, summed up in Matthew 22:37-40.

The fruit of this Spirit-led life is revealed in Galatians 5:22=23, and love itself is defined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8—patient, kind, enduring, and rooted in truth.

“Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will have the right to come to the tree of life. They will be allowed to go through the gates into the city.”
